Don't know much about CH. Butkus or the Butkus-line of dogs? Then let us tell you a little bit about them...

CH. BUTKUS (ROM) 4xw was a son of the great STP'S GR.CH. BUCK (ROM) 7xw and DAISY MAE (ROM). Butkus himself was a 4xw, picked up game for his 5th. Though not bred as much as some studs on the ROM list, he still sired 8 champions, including CH. 357 (4xw), CH. LEFTY (4xw), CH. LITTLE DICK (4xw), CH. BEAMER (4xw), CH. BUMPHUS, CH. SANDY, CH. PYSCHO II, and CH. BARBARA ANN, along with show winners BAMBOO (2xw), DRAGON (2xw), JACK (2xw), RAWHIDE (1xw), and FLINT (1xw), among others.

Many of Butkus' sons and daughters have gone on to become great producers themselves. This is also one of the few bloodlines that you can tighten up on and still get show quality stock that can also produce. Take for example the brother/sister breeding of CH. BUTKUS x MISS LEAKY ROM, which produced CH. 357 (who has himself produced 2 champions so far, CH. MACHOBUCK and CH. LIL RAT), or the brother/sister breeding of another son & daughter of BUTKUS, RAZOR x BABY, which produced CH. BEIJING. Or even BAMBOO 2xw, another son of BUTKUS bred back to BUTKUS' sister's daughter MISS LEAKY ROM...and BAMBOO, by the way, produced 3 champions of his own from just a few litters, CH. MIKE, CH. SLICKHEAD, & CH. POP-POP. And then let's look at GR.CH. PLAYBOY, who is a son of CH. LEFTY, (a son of BUTKUS), bred back to a daughter of RAWHIDE 1XW, another son of BUTKUS out a daughter of MISS LEAKY ROM.
Also, let's look at CH. BRONZE and CH. BLOODY DREAM, both off of BEAMER JR. POR, (a son of CH. BEAMER and a triple-bred grandson of BUTKUS) and out of BABY, a daughter of BUTKUS, which makes them bred four times on BUTKUS. And BEAMER JR.'s littermate brother LITTLE BEAMER was only bred twice in his life and produced CH. JAG, NORIEGA (2xw), and BUDDY (1xw) from just two breedings.

See the pattern? See how the family works together? Bottom line, this family can and will produce show animals when bred back to family, so don't fear tightening up this line. Get your showstock and your broodstock from one breeding. no need to wait generations to get what you want. Or if you want to outcross it, go ahead, it works. Or if you want to breed it with other REDBOY/JOCKO or TOMBSTONE/BOLIO strains, that works too.

OUR DOGS:

DRAGON - A direct son of CH.BUTKUS ROM and one of only three sons of BUTKUS still alive with a successful show career. His bottom side is solid TOMBSTONE/MALONEY from Rodger Crabb's blood which has put the bottom end in a lot of fine dogs.

Dragon was a solid 2XW with a show career cut short by intestinal surgery to remove a towel he had eaten. His first litter just turns two years old this year as he was not bred until retired from the show ring. He is from a family full of show winners and show producers. Dragon's littermate sister is BABY (ROM) who has so far produced 3 champions, including CH. BRONZE, CH. BEIJING, and CH. BLOODY DREAM. Dragon's littermate brother RAZOR has also produced a champion as he is sire to CH. BEIJING.

CH. BRONZE - a solid 3XW, Bronze is a son of BEAMER JR. (POR), and BABY (ROM). Beamer Jr., a son of CH. BEAMER (4xw) and out of a double-bred daughter of BUTKUS, was a very game dog we owned at one time. Unfortunately, bad hardware kept him out of the show ring. Though not bred very much before his untimely death, he still produced CH. BRONZE, CH. BLOODY DREAM, CH. BRANDY (4xw), and PRINCESS (1xw) (who was also out of a daughter of BUTKUS) from a very limited opportunity at stud. Imagine if he had lived long enough to fulfill his potential.

Bronze was only bred a few times prior to him coming to our yard. Our first breedings off BRONZE will turn a year old in 2004

. BUCK (R.I.P.) - Buck was a 1xw and 3/4 brother to CH. BUTKUS (ROM). He was purchased by us with bad hardware which kept him from continuing his show career. Buck's mother was DAISY MAE (ROM) who also produced CH. BUTKUS (ROM), CH. TERRY, & CH. THUNDER. Daisy Mae also produced MISS LEAKY (ROM), mother of CH. 357 (4xw), CH. BOY, CH. HEARTBREAK, & CH. SALINE. Buck's father TIVERTON (ROM), a double bred son of GR. CH. BUCK (ROM), is sire to 4 champions, CH. JACK, CH. DEAN, CH. HENRY, and CH. HANNAH.

Buck produced well from limited opportunities, OUR first litters off him just turned three years old and have so far produced HOT SOUP (2xw), RICKY (2xw), SNICKERS (1xw), and CHIEF (1xw), among others. Unfortunately Buck died before we could do all our planned breedings with him, but there are still young ones coming up as his last litter just turned a year old this fall, and we have other nice prospects coming up that will hopefully take his place in our program.

So, as you can see, our dogs come from one of the most productive lines of CH. BUTKUS dogs out there. We know this line of dogs, we know these dogs.

But you don't need to listen to us, you just need to let this family's production record speak for itself. Because when you see this level of production without hundreds of litters being out there, and when you see the consistent performance that runs throughout the line, not just one or two dogs that have done something, then you know you don't just have some freak of nature that will never reproduce itself, you know you've got the real deal.

So if you are looking for a chance at getting solid performance that can go the distance, then look no further. If you are looking for TOMBSTONE/BOLIO/REDBOY/JOCKO at its finest, then look no further.

If you're looking for the most successful line of dogs carrying on the GR. CH. BUCK bloodline, then again, look no further.

Because if you know what you're looking at, then you'll know you found what you're looking for.

All studs private treaty, negative brucellosis required (no exceptions). Pups sometimes available. Serious inquiries only.
